Overview
A 5 axis universal machining center lets you machine complex, high-precision parts in a single setup. The HIRUNG DU Series is engineered exactly for that: a gantry-column, three-axis-moving structure cast from German Meehanite FC30 iron carries a built-in HSK A63 spindle and a worm-gear B/C rotary table with HEIDENHAIN feedback. The result is the accuracy, rigidity and efficiency that aerospace, medical, automotive and mold-making manufacturers ask for — from the compact DU200 for small precision parts up to the long-travel DU2560.
Experience the DU Series — a cutting-edge design inherited from German engineering, now redefining “Made in China”. With unmatched accuracy, stability and efficiency, this 5 axis CNC machining center sets a new benchmark for manufacturers worldwide.
Why the DU Series

Why Choose the DU Series 5 Axis Universal Machining Center

Manufacturers choose the DU Series when a 3-axis machine is no longer enough and a dedicated multi-axis solution is too limited. By combining a rigid cast structure, a true simultaneous 5-axis rotary table and a high-speed built-in spindle, the DU Series removes re-clamping, reduces setups and holds tight tolerances across complex geometry.

One-Setup Complex Machining

The B/C rotary table positions the workpiece in almost any orientation, so angled holes, undercuts and free-form surfaces are machined without re-fixturing.

High Accuracy

Positioning accuracy of ±0.005 mm on X/Y/Z (ISO 230-2) and B/C indexing of 10″ / 5″ repeatability keep demanding features in tolerance, part after part.

High Rigidity

German Meehanite FC30 castings, FEM-optimised ribs and a separated X/Y/Z–B/C layout suppress vibration during heavy cuts.

High Efficiency

Rapid feed rates of 42 m/min and a standard 32-tool chain magazine cut non-productive time to a minimum.

A Model for Every Part

From the mini DU200 to the long-bed DU2560, the series scales with the size and complexity of the work you machine.

Lifetime Stability

Stress-relieved FC30 castings and HEIDENHAIN rotary feedback hold geometry over years of production, not just on day one.
Machine Tool Structure

A Structure Built for Rigidity and Accuracy

Every DU Series 5 axis CNC machining center starts with the same principle: keep the fast-moving parts light, keep the load-bearing parts heavy, and separate the two.

Cutaway view: separated X/Y/Z linear axes and B/C rotary axes.

German Meehanite FC30 Cast Iron

The bed, column and saddle are cast from high-grade German Meehanite FC30 iron. Each casting is refined by FEM (Finite Element Method) analysis and a patented heat-treatment and stress-relief process, so the machine keeps its geometry over years of production instead of drifting as internal stresses release.

Gantry Column Type: Three-Axis Moving

The DU Series uses a gantry column design in which the X, Y and Z axes move, while the worktable stays in a fixed, well-supported position. The moving parts stay lightweight for fast dynamic response, high rapid feed with low friction, and high positioning accuracy.

Widened Base, Separated Axes

By separating the X/Y/Z linear axes from the B/C rotary axes, the DU Series keeps the axes that must move fast light and the axes that must stay rigid heavy and well-damped. The widened base adds mass exactly where it is needed.

Rotating Slant Working Table (B/C Axis)

A rotating slant working table makes the DU Series a true simultaneous 5-axis machine. The B axis tilts and the C axis rotates a full 360°. On DU650/DU1060 the B axis travels +110° to −60°; on the mini DU200 the A/C cradle covers ±110° / 360°.
Rotary Axis & Spindle

Advanced B/C Axis and Spindle Technologies

Worm Gear B/C Axis with HEIDENHAIN Circular Scale

The B/C rotary axes use a worm-gear transmission paired with a HEIDENHAIN circular scale. The encoder closes the loop on rotary position, so indexing accuracy is maintained over the life of the machine — in normal use only minimal adjustment, roughly every five years, is needed. Compared with built-in motor transmissions, the worm-gear design also lowers maintenance cost and heat generation.

High-Speed Built-In Spindle: 18,000 / 24,000 rpm

While preserving Z-axis rigidity, the DU Series offers a built-in spindle with selectable speeds of 18,000 or 24,000 rpm. Cutting torque ranges from about 47.7 Nm at 24,000 rpm to 72–85 Nm at 18,000 rpm — heavy-duty roughing and fine finishing on the same machine.

HSK A63 Interface & 30 kW Electric Spindle

The HSK A63 tool interface gives stronger clamping force and better radial accuracy than conventional tapers, essential at high speed. A 30 kW electric spindle combines high speed with high torque, and the built-in oil cooler prevents thermal expansion from motor heating.

DU650: 32-tool chain magazine, direct-drive ball screws and Rexroth linear guideways.

32T Chain Tool Magazine

A standard 32-tool chain magazine (16 tools on the mini DU200) delivers fast, stable tool changes, boosting overall machining efficiency.

Direct-Drive Ball Screws

The three linear axes use direct-drive ball screws that eliminate backlash, ensuring accurate transmission of motion.

Rexroth Linear Guideways

Optimised Rexroth linear guideways support both high rapid feed rates and rigidity — with optional HEIDENHAIN optical rulers for full-closed-loop control.

Mini 5-Axis Machining Center: DU200

Released as a dedicated small-part platform, the DU200 is designed for parts up to about 200 mm in diameter. It adopts a bridge-type structure so cutting forces are evenly distributed, a cradle-type 5-axis worktable that is easy to clamp, and A/C roller-cam axes with no backlash for higher precision.
Core components are independently developed by HIRUNG, and the machine runs on a latest-generation, China-made 5-axis CNC system chosen for stability and efficiency — a strong fit for high-tech fields such as medical and aerospace.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

A 5 axis universal machining center is a CNC machine tool that moves the cutting tool (or the workpiece) along five axes at the same time — three linear (X, Y, Z) and two rotary (usually B and C, or A and C). Because the workpiece can be tilted and rotated under the spindle, complex angled features can be machined in one setup. The HIRUNG DU Series is a gantry-column 5 axis universal machining center with a rotating slant worktable.

A 3-axis vertical machining center (such as the HIRUNG EV Series) moves only in X, Y and Z. A 5 axis machine adds rotary axes, so it can machine angled holes, undercuts and contoured surfaces without re-clamping the part. The trade-off is that 5-axis machines reward good programming — and the DU Series supports that with HEIDENHAIN rotary feedback and modern SIEMENS or HEIDENHAIN controls.

The DU Series is used on the metals and alloys common to precision manufacturing — steel, hardened tool steel, aluminium, titanium and stainless alloys — across aerospace, medical, automotive and mold work. Tool selection and cutting data should be matched to your material; our engineers can advise.

Match the model to the size of your part. The DU200 covers small parts up to roughly 200 mm in diameter with a compact footprint. The DU650 and DU1060 are the general-purpose workhorses of the range, and the DU1560 and DU2560 provide the long X travel needed for elongated parts. Send us your part drawings and we will recommend the most economical fit.

The DU650 and DU1060 use a built-in HSK A63 spindle with selectable 18,000 or 24,000 rpm and a 30 kW motor. The DU200 uses a higher-speed spindle for small precision work. High-speed built-in spindles with an oil cooler are available for high-volume, high-accuracy production.

On the DU650 and DU1060, positioning accuracy is ±0.005 mm on X/Y/Z and repeatability is ±0.002 mm, with B/C indexing of 10″ and repeatability of 5″, measured to ISO 230-2. The DU200 is specified at 0.01 mm positioning and 0.005 mm repeatability. Optional optical scales can push accuracy further.

First, contact our salesperson and let us know the required model, your configuration requirements and the drawings of the parts you machine. Our engineers will provide a selection plan, then a quotation and the information you need. Next we sign the sales contract, and the machine is built and delivered.

You can settle in USD, EUR or RMB. Common methods are T/T and L/C; typically 30% deposit with production, and 70% before shipment. Conventional models ship in no more than 30 days, special customised equipment within 180 days, and some models are available from stock.

If a local distributor serves your area, they assist throughout. If you are an end user with no local distributor, installation is straightforward: position and level the machine, connect the marked auxiliary accessories and power plugs, and connect the main power supply (a phase-sequence protection device is fitted as standard). For fault codes, our manual, in-panel component labels and our picture-based repair teaching library help you resolve issues quickly, and every nameplate carries after-sales contact details.
